Though sunshine and happiness have not been a major part of my life in the past few months, due to my fear of leaving- things are starting to look up. Day by day, I am getting a little more excited to start my adventure. I have been attempting to pack, but how can someone pack for an entire year!? Especially someone like me- who loves clothes, shoes etc...I am able to narrow down clothes more than shoes because I have experienced not being able to buy shoes in Asian countries if your foot is bigger than a size 7. Clothes are easy to find, fashionable and reasonably priced! I plan on becoming extremely familiar with the shopping culture and fashion in China! Though most of me is looking forward to having fun in China (the shopping, nightlife and culture)- a large part of me truly wants to benefit mentally while there. I want to succeed and please my internship, do well in my classes, network and grow as an individual. I hope to come back with a new outlook on life, with a better attitude and more mature attitude.

As someone a little older than you, I would advise you to have the most fun possible on your new adventure. Life passes by so quickly and before you know it your year there will be over. Enjoy every moment of your journey. If I could go back to 23, I think I would throw caution to the wind a little more. I don't even know you and I'm excited for you! Don't be afraid, you will have the time of your life. Oh and buy lots of shoes; a girl can never have too many shoes. :)

so so so jealous of you being in shanghai living in a skyrise apartment >_< while Im here in my small dorm room in supercold Sweden.
You'll have so much fun and you'll meet lots of cool people, who knows, maybe some people that I know. You will realize that shanghai's nightlife scene is quite small after all but it has a cozy feeling :)
