WHEN THE SUN SHINES WE'LL SHINE TOGETHER

Though sunshine and happiness have not been a major part of my life in the past few months, due to my fear of leaving- things are starting to look up. Day by day, I am getting a little more excited to start my adventure. I have been attempting to pack, but how can someone pack for an entire year!? Especially someone like me- who loves clothes, shoes etc...I am able to narrow down clothes more than shoes because I have experienced not being able to buy shoes in Asian countries if your foot is bigger than a size 7. Clothes are easy to find, fashionable and reasonably priced! I plan on becoming extremely familiar with the shopping culture and fashion in China! Though most of me is looking forward to having fun in China (the shopping, nightlife and culture)- a large part of me truly wants to benefit mentally while there. I want to succeed and please my internship, do well in my classes, network and grow as an individual. I hope to come back with a new outlook on life, with a better attitude and more mature attitude.

10 days 'till i depart to China!
I am getting more anxious than ever. Everytime I think about leaving I get a little down but at the same time I realize that it is going to be SO exciting! It wil be the first time in my life that I will have to be completely independent, and unlike most people my first time out in the big wrld alone, will be in a foreign-communist country. I wil need to take on responsibilities that the average person has trouble with in their OWN country; such as setting up bank accoounts, paying bills, getting to work (without a car) or budgeting. I know that this will be a geat experience and I will come back a more humble, enlightened and open-minded person because of it. I am excited for this and truly hope to grow up during my year in China.

It's Sunday night and after a very uneventful weekend I feel so much more relaxed. I dont have classes or projects due and for the most part it feels as if a large weight has been lifted off my shoulders.
Sitting back listening to Alan Jackson, chatting on aim with friends and writing to-do lists for China-my Sunday night.
Have you ever sat back and listened to the lyrics of Alan Jackson? He is so awesome, I could only dream of marrying someone as in love and passionate as him! He is a proud American, church going cowboy! Perfect!

Half of Grad School Classes- Finished!

Today is the last day of my graduate school classes before I leave for china to begin my internship at Scholastic Publishing as well as complete the rest of the required courses. I leave August 20th-SO SOON! I have aprox. two weeks before I depart and there is so much I need to do before I leave! Even though there is so much to be done before, what want to do most is relax, have FUN and spend time with freinds and family!

My Pink MacBook Pro <3

So, my little macbook G4 has been slowing down and does not support or include many of the applications which will be vital to my survival in China. So after much deliberation, and thought as to how to spend some of my graduation money, I finally decided to purcahse a new MacBook Pro! Needless to say I am in love with it! One of the features it includes is a built in web cam- it's AWESOME :D Even though I loved my G4, I opted to pay a bit more to get a smarter and fancier one!

Yogurt Land =D

I was so excited to see a yogurt shop was opening up next to my favorite store "kitty house". I presumed that it would be similar to golden spoon; addicting yet managable. I was completely and totally wrong! "Yogurt Land" has become my summer addiction and reward after a long day of class. Not only is it a self-serve yogurt store with super yummy flavors and fresh fruit toppings, but it has the cutest atmosphere! I read somewhere that it looks like hello kitty threw up on a jamba juice...so true... My favorite favors are strawberry and cookies and cream with coconut and fresh strawberry topping. If you live in irvine or have a chace to stop by, do so-it's worth it!
